Nrityanjali LLC was founded by Shweta Sonar with a simple wish: to pass on the beauty of Bharatanatyam to the next generation with sincerity, discipline, and joy.

Shweta began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5. What started as a child's curiosity became a lifelong pursuit. She continues to learn from her gurus and students, as there is always more to learn in Bharatanatyam. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bharatanatyam from Pune University and a Visharad from Gandharva University, along with a Bachelor of Science degree from SNDT University.

She follows the Kalakshetra style and has been blessed with the opportunity to learn from gurus she deeply respects — Pandit Raghunath Gaddam ji, Shrimati Sundaram Murthy garu, Shrimati Suvarnalatha Nimalikanthi garu (disciple of Adyar K. Lakshman), and Shri Shriniwas Katwe ji.

Before starting Nrityanjali, Shweta worked as a classical dance teacher at Meridian School, Hyderabad, and has performed on several stages, including Doordarshan TV in India. She also served as a Bharatanatyam examiner for Gandharva University.

With this background, Shweta built Nrityanjali as a place where Bharatanatyam is not just taught as a dance form but is seen as a way to support children's growth through discipline, confidence, physical strength, and cultural pride. Classical dance takes time and patience, so classes are kept small, encouraging, and personal. Each batch has 8 to 10 students, grouped according to age and skill level. Students attend once a week.

Students who are ready receive stage opportunities at various cultural events in the community. Nrityanjali also hosts annual showcase events where every student performs in front of their family. These moments matter. They help children move past stage fright and stand tall.

Nrityanjali is connected with a university in India, so interested students can appear for Bharatanatyam exams at different stages. These milestones bring structure, purpose, and a sense of accomplishment.

For Shweta, Bharatanatyam is a source of joy, devotion, and identity. Through Nrityanjali, she hopes to keep this tradition alive in the hearts of younger generations.
